FAQ’s
How does online therapy work?
I use a HIPAA-compliant platform through the Alma platform and private Zoom links which offers unique links for each appointment to ensure all client information is safe. Prior to each appointment, clients will sign on from the comfort of their own homes. Once the appointment is over and you log off, the link will become inactive. A new link will be sent prior to your next appointment.
Each session is just like a traditional in-office setting, with the benefits of skipping the travel time and traffic! Yay! It’s really a convenient way for you to not miss more time at work or with family and still make your mental health a priority.
How long is the counseling process?
The counseling process can be a short-term (approximately 3 to 5 months) or long-term (6 months or more) endeavor. It all depends on the severity of the issue(s) presented and what is best for you and your needs.
Do you offer in-office appointments?
This will be something coming in the near future to the Coral Springs/Parkland area. Once this option is available, we will update our website and accept in-person appointments.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
We understand life happens sometimes! If you need to reschedule or cancel, please reach out as soon as possible. All appointments must be canceled within 24 hours and will be subject to a charge of a $100 cancellation fee to the card on file.
Can you prescribe me any medication for my mental illness?
At this time we do not have a psychiatrist or medical doctor on site to prescribe and administer any sort of medication management. If you need assistance with a referral, we can attempt to assist by referring you to a service provider that can meet this need.
Do you take insurance?
Our in-network providers are Cigna, Aetna, and United Health Networks currently. Coming soon we will accept Tricare, Optum, and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Do you accept self-pay clients? What are the benefits of self-pay?
Yes, we do accept self-pay clients, as this may be a better fit for some individuals seeking the benefits of self-pay for counseling services.
Self-pay can be cheaper: If you have a high deductible plan or are filing out of network it may cost less to self-pay and some providers offer a slightly lower self-pay rate.
Privacy factor: By paying a self-pay rate, no diagnosis is submitted to insurance or accessible by other medical providers without a signed release
More freedom: self-pay affords your therapist the following freedoms:
Location. For example, you can have phone/video sessions when necessary without concern of insurance denial.
Time. Therapists are not bound to the same time constraints as those who file with insurance and can spend more time than the standard 45 to 55 minutes per session.
Parents, spouses, and significant others can join sessions as needed without concern for insurance denial.
They do not have to diagnose you. If they do, they can keep it completely confidential.
They can utilize the type of treatment they think is best without restriction.
They can see you for as many sessions as you need. Not the number determined by insurance companies.
Overall best care: providers with self-pay practices are able to see who they want, the way they want, and create a more valuable experience for the client. Insurance companies can limit how specialized a provider can become. These therapists often have spent extensive time becoming experts in their fields and providing extensive care. These providers dedicate time and money to continuing their education and mastering skills essential to being the best choice for their clients.

Testimony
"I went through a very difficult divorce. I was emotionally devastated. I slipped into a deep depression, extreme anxiety, and suicidal thoughts. I worked with Amanda and she was great. We did sessions for well over a year and she was patient, kind, knowledgeable, and just genuinely cared about me. I am doing so much better now, back to myself and feeling optimistic about the future. I am grateful I got to work with Amanda she truly helped change my life for the better."
